		<description>Insightful as always, Donny. I know judges would rather have common law (rulings from the bench) take precedent to written law for exactly this reason.  Most laws that Congress pass only bind the hands of justice tighter, when they need to be spread wide.</description>

		<description>I&#039;m sure they did - I can&#039;t see how they couldn&#039;t, really - but the film makes a point of showing Seibei&#039;s unease.  It&#039;s not shame exactly, but he is acutely aware that the work, while necessary, would get him laughed at by his fellow [useless] Samurai.  That&#039;s one of the many reasons his character is so compelling - he does what he needs to do to survive AND uphold the honorable code, regardless of what others may think, but he&#039;s still human enough to feel the sting of disapproval.  A wonderful character!</description>
